Who’s the madman trying to kill our pets?

By FRANK WILKIE IT is feared a criminally insane, intolerant and apparently illiterate dog killer calling himself “The Dog Terminator” is on the loose.

At least two families in a Sunrise Beach neighborhood have received letters threatening to kill their pets for barking.

How serious is the problem?

• More than one-third of adults ages 65 years and older fall each year.
• Among older adults, falls are the leading cause of injury deaths and the most common cause of nonfatal injuries and hospital admissions for trauma.
• In 2003 more than 1.8 million seniors age 65 and older were treated in emergency departments for fall-related injuries and more than 421,000 were hospitalized (CDC 2005).

Autopsy Shows Taser Contributed To Lubbock Man’s Death

Minutes ago the Lubbock Medical Examiner’s office released the autopsy report for Juan Nunez III. He was the 27-year-old Lubbock man who died the night of April 16th after he was tased by Lubbock Police officer Matt Doherty.

Oregon Health & Science Univ Seeks Community Input On Study To Improve Traumatic Injury Survival

PORTLAND, Oregon - Oregon Health & Science University is part of the National Institutes of Health- funded Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium (ROC). This group of 11 regional medical centers across the United States and Canada seeks to find promising scientific and clinical advances to improve survival from cardiac arrest and severe trauma.

Light Out

After watching countless spy movies, Westerns, and TV cop shows, I wonder: how easy is it to knock someone out by smacking them on the back of the head with a pistol, club, etc.? Since I’m not willing to act as a test subject, although I’m pretty sure I’d have plenty of volunteers willing to do the smacking, I’m asking you as the next-best source.

The ARC Holds Its 39th Annual Pancake Breakfast
